Creekside Village – Weaverville
April 22nd, 2009 categories: Neighborhoods, Real Estate News
I attended the big grand opening of Creekside Village yesterday. I was completely impressed with the quality of this Moon/McManus built Weaverville neighborhood starting at only $129,900. The townhomes are two and three bedroom models, with a one car garage. The exterior finishes have good textures with a combination of stone & wood, nothing boring about these units. Inside, I was pleased to find that the living rooms have gas fireplaces with an area for your flat screen tv if you so desire. Upstairs the master had it’s own full bath and walk-in closet.
The views are spectacular! There are tons of homes out there that don’t even come close to having these views, and starting at $129,900, UNBELIEVABLE!
There are also Patio Homes that begin at $229,900. I’ve included some photos of these lovely units.
These are primarily one story living with a large bonus room upstairs.
I think Creekside Village represents one of the best values out there. These units are also eligible for 100% USDA financing!! Yes, you read that right – 100% financing, my phone should be ringing off the hook!! Creekside Village is located in Buncombe County just 10 miles north of downtown Asheville.
If you are done with hustle & bustle, Weaverville is the place to be. It has all the amenities like shopping, restaurants, hiking, a quaint downtown, yet very close to highways that making getting to Asheville a snap!
Reservations are now being taken for Creekside Village, you should definitely check this out – Call me!!

Creekside Village – Weaverville
April 14th, 2009 categories: Neighborhoods

There’s a new neighborhood coming to Weaverville, and they’re offering affordable, quality housing in a great settting. Creekside Village will be offering walking trails, a fun play area for children, a peaceful pond and a proposed walking bridge over to Lake Louise. You’re also very close to Reems Creek Golf Club for those who love to golf!
Weaverville is a lovely small town, just 8 miles north of Asheville, with a quaint downtown area that brings you back to the old days of simpler, less stressed time. By the way, my favorite pizza place of all time is on Main Street Blue Mountain Pizza.
Creekside Village is comprised of Townhomes, 2 or 3 bedrooms, ranging in price from $129,900. Patio homes are larger, starting at just $229,900.
Offered by Beverly-Hanks and Associates, I will be visiting the new neighborhood early next week and promise to take photos and share with all of you. Creekside Village is so new, that they are still a few days away from having permanent electricity. Now is a FABULOUS time to consider this well-located neighborhood, you really can’t beat the price for new construction. More next week . . .

Fun On-The-Cheap around Asheville, Part II
April 7th, 2009 categories: Places to go
Craft beers and wine
In case you don’t know this, Asheville has become a mecca for craft beers with an abundance of micro-breweries to choose from. The wine is pretty good too. Wine and beer tastings are free, fun and very sociable. Here are a few places offering tastings, most are free: The top of my list is Maggie B’s Wine and Specialty Store. Located in Weaverville, owner Elspeth Brown has a free wine tasting every Friday 5:30-8PM. Elspeth is a certified Sommelier and knows her wine! Next is Hops and Vines, located at 797 Haywood Road, Asheville, they offer free wine tastings 3-6pm Saturdays, beer tastings are Fridays. Then, of course, the grand-daddy is the Biltmore Estate Winery, where you can try a choice of 5 wines free, and a premium wine bar that only costs $8 for a tasting of three different choice and sparkling wines.
Cheap DVD Rentals
Want to stay in with the family and just relax with a new release. The cheapest new releases in town are at Orbit DVD on Haywood Road in West Asheville, $2 a film. (254-2123). If you like classic films, Asheville’s Pack Library has a pretty good selection. But don’t be late getting it back, $1.50 a day late fee’s can rack up quick.
BOOKS
While I’m on the subject of libraries, let’s not forget some good bookstores in our area: On Haywood Street is Malaprop’s Bookstore, eclectic and full of character, a great place to pick up a good book and a good cup of coffee. Did you know that the new Barnes & Noble has opened on Tunnel Road? It’s a two-story extravaganza with Starbucks Coffee, maybe I could bring my laptop and blog from there . . .

Go to www.regalcinemas.com/freefamilyflicks One of my favorite places to see a movie is at the Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company, 675 Merrimon Ave. Movies are only $3!! Four rehab Must-Do’s
April 2nd, 2009 categories: Sellers
The two rooms that consistently make the biggest impression on buyers are – without a doubt – kitchens and bathrooms. Even in today’s uncertain economic times, home owners and buyers are willing to spend on upgrades to these two essential rooms. If you’re getting ready to spend some money on the latest trends, here are four must-do’s to consider:
UNIVERSAL BATH DESIGN – Roll-in showers and decorative grab bars that match other bath fixtures.
A KITCHEN ISLAND – Ideally one that’s not a boring square and that incorporates lots of storage.
A SEALED SHOWER – Multiple shower heads and outside vent to cut down on mold build up on grout and behind walls.
STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES – Essential today at almost every home price point.
